Moonsplash Music Festival in Dune Preserve/Rendezvous Bay
The Caribbean's oldest independent music festival, founded in 1991 by reggae musician Bankie Banx at his self-built Dune Preserve on Rendezvous Bay, drawing major international reggae and Caribbean acts to its open-air, sand-floor stage each March, continuing a homegrown tradition that has run at the same beach venue for more than three decades.
Moonsplash is billed as the oldest independent music festival in the Caribbean, and its story is inseparable from the man who founded it, Anguillian reggae musician Bankie Banx, who launched the festival in 1991 alongside fellow musician Sheriff Bob Saidenberg.
