Buenos Aires Half Marathon in Buenos Aires
Latin America's largest half marathon by field size, run through Palermo and central Buenos Aires since 1989, when it began as a single-sponsor race. The certified 21-kilometer course starts and finishes at Figueroa Alcorta and Dorrego and draws more than 20,000 runners in recent editions.
Buenos Aires' half marathon started in 1989 under a sponsor's name, the Media Maratón Adidas de Argentina, an idea credited to organizer Domingo Amaison, who wanted a 21-kilometer date on the city's sports calendar.
