National Rituals Festival Zar in Zar
A one-day cultural festival in the cave village of Zar, Syunik region, reconstructing traditional Armenian wedding rituals through folk performance, embroidered costumes, and craft demonstrations organized by the Vary Varenk cultural initiative since 2021. The single-day format and small crowds make it an intimate, easy add-on for travelers exploring Syunik's cave villages and southern Armenia's ancient sites.
Each September, the village of Zar in Armenia's Syunik region turns its stone lanes and cave-carved hillsides into a living stage for the National Rituals Festival, a celebration built entirely around Armenia's traditional wedding ceremonies and courtship customs.
