Illawarra Folk Festival in Bulli
The Illawarra Folk Festival fills Bulli Showground on the New South Wales coast each January with acoustic, world, and traditional music, running since the mid-1980s. Workshops, bush dancing, and open-mic sessions sit alongside formal concerts in a compact, community-run setting. Its seaside-escarpment backdrop and volunteer-driven structure give it a relaxed, participatory folk-festival character.
Bulli Showground, a modest coastal reserve south of Sydney in the Illawarra region, hosts one of New South Wales's longest-running folk gatherings each January.
