National Reconciliation Week in Multiple cities
National Reconciliation Week runs from May 27 to June 3 each year, framed by the anniversaries of the 1967 referendum and the 1992 Mabo native title decision. Coordinated by Reconciliation Australia, it features reconciliation walks, flag-raising ceremonies, and workplace Reconciliation Action Plan activities nationwide. National Sorry Day on May 26 immediately precedes and connects into the week.
Between May 27 and June 3 each year, Australia observes National Reconciliation Week, a period bookended by two significant dates in the country's history: the anniversary of the successful 1967 referendum, which saw Australians vote to include Aboriginal people in the census and allow the Commonwealth to legislate for them, and the anniversary of the 1992 Mabo decision, in which the High Court recognised native title and overturned the legal fiction of terra nullius.
