Founded in 2012 by Graham Wood, the festival runs each spring through the CBD, Northbridge and Hyde Park, spanning traditional swing through to contemporary fusion and experimental jazz.

Perth International Jazz Festival was the brainchild of the late Associate Professor Graham Wood, who established the event in 2012 with the aim of giving Western Australia a jazz festival that could stand alongside the country's best.
