Woodford Folk Festival in Woodford
Held every summer from 27 December to New Year's Day at Woodfordia, north of Brisbane, Woodford Folk Festival grew out of the 1987 Maleny Folk Festival before relocating to its own purpose-built bushland site in 1994. Over six days it brings more than a thousand folk, world music, circus and spoken-word artists to dozens of stages, with most visitors camping on site for the festival's full run.
Woodford Folk Festival traces its roots to 1987 and a much smaller event called the Maleny Folk Festival, held in the showgrounds of a tiny hinterland town north of Brisbane.
