Glatt und Verkehrt in Krems
Glatt und Verkehrt is a world music festival based in Krems in the Wachau valley, founded in 1997 and running for roughly two to three weeks each July. Concerts take place in the converted Gothic monastery church Klangraum Krems Minoritenkirche, at the working Benedictine abbey Stift Gottweig, and in smaller historic venues around Krems-Stein, bringing folk and traditional music from across the globe to the Danube region.
Glatt und Verkehrt has brought world music to the Wachau region since its founding in 1997, built around the premise of pairing folk and traditional musical forms from across the globe under one festival banner in and around the Danube town of Krems.
