Baku Marathon in Baku

Baku's annual road race, run since 2016 along a seafront loop from State Flag Square past the Maiden Tower and through the White City district. For spectators, the draw is less the running itself than watching the capital's boulevards close to traffic and fill with runners and roadside crowds.

Baku Marathon began in 2016 as a 21-kilometre loop from State Flag Square along the Caspian seafront, past the Government House, the Puppet Theatre and the Maiden Tower before finishing back where it started.
