Rolleville Homecoming and Regatta in Rolleville
Rolleville, a small settlement on Great Exuma, hosts one of the Bahamas' oldest homecoming and regatta weekends, running more than eighty years under the Progressive Sporting Club. Class B and C native sloops race the anchorage on Friday and Saturday of the early-August weekend, while the settlement fills with a talent and beauty pageant, greasy pole climbing, games and food stalls as Exuma natives return for the reunion.
Rolleville is a small settlement on the northern end of Great Exuma, and once a year it hosts one of the longest-running regatta and homecoming weekends in the Bahamian family islands, dating back more than eighty editions to a local sailing club formed in the 1940s.
