Bahrain International Music Festival in Manama cultural venues
Running annually since 1992 under the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, this October festival spreads Arabic classical, jazz, world music and fusion performances across multiple cultural venues in Manama rather than one dedicated hall. Programming often pairs Western classical ensembles with Middle Eastern instrumentalists or traditional vocalists, giving the lineup an unusual, cross-genre character. Its long institutional run makes it one of the Gulf's more established music festivals, distinct from newer commercially branded events.
First staged in 1992 in line with the International Music Council's principle that music can build understanding across class and culture, this festival has run every year since under the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, reaching past its thirtieth edition by the mid-2020s and making it one of the longer-running international music festivals in the Gulf.
