Barbados Game Fishing Tournament in Bridgetown/Carlisle Bay
Also known as the Sir Charles Williams International Fishing Tournament, this is Barbados' leading offshore game-fishing contest, run each April by the Barbados Game Fishing Association. Boats chase blue marlin, wahoo, tuna and other big-game species over several days, but the real visitor experience happens dockside at the afternoon weigh-ins, where catches are hauled up and measured in front of a marina crowd.
Barbados' most prestigious offshore contest doesn't crown its champions until anglers haul blue marlin and other billfish up onto a marina scale, which is the part of the day a shore-based visitor can actually watch.
