Naniki Barbados Music Festival in Surinam/Naniki
The Naniki Barbados Music Festival is a two-day event staged at a hillside eco-resort in St. Joseph parish, mixing soca, reggae, jazz and other regional styles against island scenery rather than a beach or city stage. Held in January, it offers a smaller, garden-party-scale alternative to Crop Over's bigger Bridgetown shows.
Naniki's stages sit in the hills above Barbados's rugged east coast, high enough that the music festival built around them doubles as one of the better vantage points on the island for watching the Atlantic side of Barbados unfold below.
