Saint Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk, founded in the eleventh century under Prince Vseslav the Sorcerer and rebuilt in Baroque style by architect Jan Krzysztof Glaubitz in the 1740s, functions today as a concert hall and museum rather than an active parish church.
