Tour of Flanders in Antwerp/Oudenaarde

Belgium's most famous cobbled cycling classic, run since 1913 from Antwerp to a finish in Oudenaarde through the short, brutally steep bergs of the Flemish Ardennes, including the Koppenberg and Oude Kwaremont. One of cycling's five Monuments, it rewards spectators who pick a single climb rather than try to see the whole route.

Karel van Wijnendaele launched a cycling race in 1913 that started in Ghent and finished in Mariakerke, a far cry from the Antwerp-to-Oudenaarde route run today.
