The single race day sits inside Waregem Koerse Feesten, a week-long town fair with a market, concerts and a childrens Smallest Steeplechase, blending 19th-century racing pedigree with an ordinary Flemish fair.

The Grand Steeple-Chase des Flandres has run at Waregems Gaverbeek hippodrome since 1858, when a course was built on meadows granted for a fair-day horse race that had started a decade earlier tied to the towns kermis.
