Junior Cross Country Cycling Classic in Belize City to Cayo
The Junior Cross Country Cycling Classic gives Belize's under-18 cyclists their own race within weeks of the senior Holy Saturday Classic, run since the 1990s over a shorter course. The men's race runs roughly 76 miles from Succotz Village to BEL headquarters, while the women's junior race runs a separate route from Roaring Creek, drawing regional riders from Mexico, Guatemala and beyond.
Belize's cycling calendar gives its youngest competitive riders their own version of the country's biggest race: the Junior Cross Country Cycling Classic, run within a few weeks of the main Holy Saturday Classic since the 1990s, over a shorter distance but with the same competitive seriousness.
