Sarajevo Evenings of Music SVEM in Sarajevo
Sarajevo Evenings of Music (SVEM) is a nine-day classical and chamber music season each May, revived in 2012 by the Foundation for Musical Arts after decades off following its 1972 launch. Concerts run in formal halls, chiefly the National Theatre, with international soloists and orchestras paired with the Sarajevo Philharmonic. It suits travelers after serious concert listening rather than open-air crowds.
Sarajevo Evenings of Music began in 1972 as a concert series produced by Radio-Television Sarajevo, aimed at giving the city a regular season of chamber and orchestral music outside the opera house calendar.
