Cherry Blossom Festival Garca in Garca

Garça's Festa da Cerejeira celebrates the bloom of roughly 660 cherry trees, mostly of the Okinawa variety, planted around the town's Lagoa J.K. Williams by its Japanese-Brazilian community. Held over several days in late June into July when the trees actually flower, the festival adds taiko drumming, folk dance, cosplay contests and Japanese food to the lakeside blossom display, and was added to Brazil's official national events calendar in 2024.

Garça holds one of São Paulo state's largest cherry blossom groves, and the town's Festa da Cerejeira turns its bloom into a multi-day celebration of Japanese-Brazilian heritage.
