Ilhabela Sailing Week, held every July since 1973, is one of the world's largest ocean regattas, filling the channel between the island of Ilhabela and the Sao Paulo mainland with hundreds of racing boats. Onshore, the marina and waterfront fill with crews, prize ceremonies and a nautical social scene through the week. Expect striking mountain-backed race courses, a lively harbor atmosphere and a town that swells with visiting sailors.
Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela, known in English as Ilhabela Sailing Week, is one of the largest ocean sailing regattas in the world, held every July in the waters around Ilhabela, an island municipality off the coast of Sao Paulo state.
