The Cavalhadas de Pirenopolis is a three-day mock tournament on horseback reenacting the Christian-Moorish struggle of the Iberian Reconquista, staged in costume by riders split into red and blue camps. It forms the centerpiece performance of Pirenopolis' Festa do Divino Espirito Santo around Pentecost, though its equestrian spectacle has become famous enough to draw visitors on its own terms.
Riders in Pirenopolis split into two costumed camps each year, red for the Mouros and blue for the Cristaos, and spend three days staging a choreographed tournament on horseback that reenacts the medieval struggle between Christian and Moorish forces during the Iberian Reconquista.
