The story

Flora Burgas in Burgas

Now past its fortieth edition, Burgas' Flora exhibition turns the Sea Garden park and its purpose-built Expo Center into a temporary landscape of large-scale flower installations each May. Alongside the outdoor plant market, indoor halls host floristry, ikebana and bonsai demonstrations, drawing garden professionals and families over Bulgaria's early-May holiday period.

Burgas' Flora exhibition has passed its fortieth edition, a history stretching back to the mid-1980s that makes it one of the longest-running annual events on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Its scale and history set it apart - more than forty consecutive editions and, in recent years, over a hundred participating creators building large installations rather than simple market booths

02

The mystery stays covered

The venue itself is architecturally notable: the Flora Expo Center is a purpose-built green exhibition hall recognized in Bulgarian design circles, combining enclosed galleries with open-air pavilions inside the Sea Garden park

03

The city starts moving

Timing during Bulgaria's early-May public holidays gives it a strong domestic family audience rather than a niche trade-show crowd, and the outdoor grounds mean most of the event can be seen without paying to enter halls
