Pamporovo Bike Fest in Pamporovo
Pamporovo Bike Fest turns the resort's winter ski lifts into summer mountain-bike access each late July, hosting a National Downhill Championship round, cross-country races, a freestyle competition and a kids' downhill series across one weekend. An expo zone, film screenings, a bowling night and a closing party round out the program. It draws both competitive racers and recreational riders to the Rhodope Mountains.
Pamporovo's chairlifts, built to move winter skiers, spend late July hauling downhill mountain bikers instead, as the resort's slopes host a round of Bulgaria's National Downhill Championship alongside cross-country races, a freestyle competition and a dedicated kids' downhill series.
