Plovdiv Jazz Fest in Plovdiv

An international jazz festival in Plovdiv, running since 2015 as a public-private initiative backed by the Municipality of Plovdiv, pairing concerts by touring jazz names with workshops in vocals, piano, double bass and improvisation led by the visiting artists themselves. Distinct from the older Bansko Jazz Festival in a different city, Plovdiv's edition has grown from a single autumn weekend into a year-round calendar with an added spring program.

Plovdiv Jazz Fest was built from the start as a public-private partnership, organized by the production company Blue M with backing from the Municipality of Plovdiv since its first edition in 2015, a structural detail that shaped the event more than most: rather than a single ticketed concert series, it folds in workshops, artist masterclasses and municipal cultural programming as part of one coordinated event.
