Nuits Atypiques de Koudougou in Koudougou
Nuits Atypiques de Koudougou is a long-running regional culture festival founded in 1996 by Koudougou's Association Benebnooma, showcasing traditional and contemporary performers from across Burkina Faso's diverse regions rather than a single musical genre. Its resident Saaba percussion and dance troupe has built an international reputation of its own, and Benebnooma extends the festival's reach year-round through a community radio and television outlet.
Koudbi Koala founded the Association Benebnooma in Koudougou and, through it, launched the Nuits Atypiques de Koudougou in 1996 as a meeting ground for artistic and cultural expression across Burkina Faso's regions.
