Battambang Circus Festival in Battambang
The Tini Tinou International Circus Festival is a biennial event, held roughly every other year and split between Battambang and Siem Reap, organized jointly by Phare Ponleu Selpak and Phare, The Cambodian Circus. Battambang's leg centers on the Phare Ponleu Selpak campus, combining Big Top performances, street parades, and workshops with Cambodian and international circus artists, and now also hosts the Circus Asia Network's annual professional gathering.
A red Big Top rises every other year on the Phare Ponleu Selpak campus in Battambang, and acrobats spill out into street parades for the Tini Tinou International Circus Festival, a biennial event whose Khmer name translates roughly as here and there, reflecting a program that moves between indoor performances and outdoor public spaces.
