Ok Om Bok Moon Festival in Phnom Penh/Nationwide
Ok Om Bok is the moon-worship rite held on the full moon of the tenth lunar month, offered as thanks for the harvest and known in Phnom Penh as Sampeas Preah Khe. Families gather outdoors under the full moon to offer flattened young rice and seasonal produce, then feed rice to kneeling children and interpret their answers to a wish-question as informal harvest omens. It runs alongside Phnom Penh's wider Bon Om Touk festival program.
Under a rising full moon on the fourteenth and fifteenth nights of the tenth lunar month, households and pagoda communities across Cambodia gather for Ok Om Bok, a moon-worship rite embedded within the broader Bon Om Touk festival period and known in the capital as Sampeas Preah Khe.
