Festival de Lanaudiere, founded in 1978 by Father Fernand Lindsay, is Canada's largest classical music festival, running roughly five weeks each summer at the open-air Amphitheatre Fernand-Lindsay in Joliette, about an hour northeast of Montreal. Full orchestral concerts, often with the Orchestre symphonique de Montreal, share the program with choral and chamber performances held in the region's historic churches.
