Grands Feux Loto-Quebec in Quebec City/Levis
Grands Feux Loto-Quebec began in 1995 as an international fireworks competition and became, after dropping the competitive format in 2012, a season-long series of large-scale pyromusical shows launched from a barge on the Saint Lawrence River between Quebec City and Levis. Each show pairs choreographed fireworks with a themed musical soundtrack, drawing spectators to both shorelines across several dates each summer.
Grands Feux Loto-Quebec began in 1995 as an international fireworks competition, an idea championed by promoter Marcel Dallaire and originally staged at Chute-Montmorency Park east of Quebec City, before the event moved onto the Saint Lawrence River itself for Quebec City's 400th anniversary celebrations in 2008, launching fireworks from a barge anchored midstream between the city and Levis.
