Beijing Music Festival in Beijing

Founded in 1998 by conductor Long Yu, the Beijing Music Festival (BMF) built its identity on bringing landmark international classical works, including Wagner's Ring Cycle, to Chinese audiences at a time few international orchestras performed there. Major visiting ensembles such as the Berlin Philharmonic and New York Philharmonic have appeared alongside China's own leading orchestras across the festival's history, and it continues to showcase emerging musicians each autumn.
