Since the 2010s, its public staging has largely shifted to a purpose-built venue in Enshi city called Tujia Daughter City, alongside traditional performances like knife-ladder walking and grass dragon dances.
The Enshi Tujia Daughter's Festival is often described locally as an Eastern Valentine's Day, though its actual mechanism is closer to a courtship market built entirely around singing rather than a fixed romantic date.
