Hangzhou Marathon in Hangzhou
Founded in 1987 as the Sino-Japan West Lake Osmanthus Marathon, the Hangzhou Marathon is a World Athletics Gold Label race whose course splits between UNESCO-listed West Lake scenery in its first half and a Qiantang River greenway in its second, finishing at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center each November.
The Hangzhou Marathon traces back to October 11, 1987, when it launched as the Sino-Japan West Lake Osmanthus Marathon, one of the oldest continuously evolving road races in China.
