Beijing MC Marathon starts and finishes at Renmin University's Tongzhou campus, tracing the historic Grand Canal's northern section past the Beijing Performing Arts Centre, Beijing Library and Grand Canal Museum, showcasing Tongzhou district's role as Beijing's newly developed administrative sub-centre rather than retracing the older, historic-core Beijing Marathon route.
Renmin University of China's Tongzhou campus serves as both start and finish line for this marathon, whose route follows the northern section of the Grand Canal, passing the Central Green Forest Park, the Grand Canal Forest Park, the Beijing Performing Arts Centre, the Beijing Library and the Grand Canal Museum of Beijing, making it as much a guided tour of Beijing's new administrative sub-centre as a standard road race.
