Wuhan Qintai Music Festival in Wuhan
Wuhan Qintai Music Festival is staged at Qintai Concert Hall on Moon Lake, a purpose-built venue opened in 2009 with a 1,600-seat symphonic hall, a German pipe organ and a smaller chamber hall, bringing international orchestras and musicians to central China alongside public music education programming.
The ancient Chinese legend of High Mountain and Flowing Water, describing a friendship between guqin player Boya and his one true listener Ziqi, gives the Qintai Concert Hall its name and this festival its symbolic backdrop, staged inside a building on the shores of Wuhan's Moon Lake that opened in September 2009 after three years of construction.
