Bandola Festival in Sevilla

Founded in 1996 by the local musical group Bandola, Sevilla's namesake festival surveys pasillo, cumbia, joropo, rajalena and currulao alongside bandola repertoire in a Valle del Cauca town more commonly associated with salsa. The Festival Bandola in Sevilla, a town in northern Valle del Cauca, grew out of a shared idea among members of the group Bandola - Maria Elena Velez, Oscar Gallego, Rodrigo Munoz and Julian Gil - who wanted a space where musicians could perform the repertoire of their choosing and discuss broader musical questions together, founding the event in 1996.
