Midsummer Scene is an English-language theatre festival staged inside Fort Lovrijenac, the clifftop fortress above Dubrovnik's harbor, founded in 2014 and named for its debut production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Each edition runs one new production nightly across roughly ten days in June and July.
Midsummer Scene is the only English-language theatre festival of its kind in southeastern Europe, staged inside Fort Lovrijenac, the eleventh-century fortress that sits on a thirty-seven-meter cliff above Dubrovnik's western harbor and once guarded the approach to the old Republic of Ragusa.
