Renesansni Festival Koprivnica

Organized since 2006, Renesansni festival Koprivnica reconstructs the late-fifteenth to sixteenth-century period tied to the town's Renaissance-era fortifications, drawing more than a thousand costumed participants from across Central Europe for four days each August of knight tournaments, craft demonstrations and Renaissance-inspired food and drink. More than a thousand costumed participants travel from Croatia and neighboring countries including Slovenia, Hungary and Austria each year.

Renesansni festival Koprivnica has been organized since 2006 and has grown into the largest and most elaborate event of its kind in this part of Europe, reconstructing specifically the period stretching from the end of the fifteenth century through the sixteenth, the era from which Koprivnica's own Renaissance-period earthen fortifications date and roughly two centuries after the town was granted status as a Royal Free City in 1356.
