Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival in World Trade Center Curacao
An internationally programmed music festival at the World Trade Center on Piscadera Bay each late August, launched in 2010 by Mojo Concerts and Fundashon Bon Intenshon specifically to boost low-season tourism, spanning jazz, pop, hip-hop and Latin genres well beyond its jazz-festival name. Management by Mojo Concerts, the company behind the original Rotterdam festival, gives the Curacao edition direct lineage to its Dutch namesake.
Conceived in 2010 specifically to stimulate tourism during Curacao's low season, the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival launched its first edition that September at the World Trade Center on Piscadera Bay with a lineup headlined by John Legend, Simply Red, George Benson and India.Arie, immediately establishing the event as more than a modest regional spin-off of its Rotterdam namesake.
