Kambos Cherry Festival in Kambos
Kambos tis Tsakistras, in the north-western Marathasa Valley of the Nicosia district, holds The Ruby of Kambos cherry festival across two days in early June, organised by the Kambos Community Council and recently held under the auspices of the President of Cyprus. The programme combines gastronomy, cultural activities and entertainment celebrating the village's cherry harvest and agricultural heritage.
Tucked into the north-western reaches of the Marathasa Valley in the Nicosia district, the community of Kambos tis Tsakistras stages its own cherry festival under the specific title The Ruby of Kambos, a name distinguishing it from Pedoulas's larger cherry celebration in the same valley even though both draw on the same regional cherry-growing tradition.
