Pop Messe Brno in Brno
Pop Messe began as an online-only event in 2020 before its first in-person edition the following summer at the decaying Za Luzankami football stadium, with headliners including Modeselektor and Tommy Cash. Forced by safety concerns to relocate almost every year since, through the Boby Centrum area and, since 2024, the historic Velodrom cycling track, the festival has grown to three days and positions itself around contemporary popular music, technology and sustainability.
Pop Messe was originally planned as a physical event for summer 2020, but pandemic restrictions forced organisers to pivot to a two-day online event instead, called Pop Messe Live, featuring Czech acts such as Post-hudba and Bert and Friends rather than the in-person gathering originally intended.
