Five-Petalled Rose Celebrations

For three days each June, Cesky Krumlov recreates the Renaissance era of the Rozmberk family, the noble dynasty whose red five-petalled rose emblem gives the festival its name, with a costumed procession of knights, a jousting tournament tied to the family's rose-division legend, craft fairs, period banquets, live human chess and closing fireworks. Annual attendance runs around eighteen thousand, with over half a million visitors recorded across three decades.
