International Music Festival Cesky Krumlov in Český Krumlov

The International Music Festival Cesky Krumlov traces to 1992, when Jaroslav Krcek's existing chamber festival grew into a genuinely international event led by Jaromir Bohac, opening with six concerts over six days in the Riding Hall of Cesky Krumlov Castle. Extended to two weeks by 1995 as public response grew, it is now the longest-running summer music festival in the Czech Republic, with leadership passing to current director Gabriela Rachidi from its thirty-first edition in 2022.

The International Music Festival Cesky Krumlov traces back to 1992, when composer and music manager Jaroslav Krcek, who had already founded a chamber music festival in the town, invited composer Jaromir Bohac and his father Josef Bohac, also a composer, to join the project, and plans for the event quickly outgrew the original chamber-music concept to become something more genuinely international in scope.
