Karlovy Vary Folklore Festival in Karlovy Vary
The Karlovy Vary Folklore Festival has run since 1996, sustained largely by volunteer organisers and gaining formal recognition from the International Organization of Folk Art in 2010. Now well into its fourth decade, the festival brings costumed dancers, folk musicians, craft fairs and international performing groups to the spa town, framed explicitly around preserving the specific customs and folk music of the Karlovy Vary region.
The Karlovy Vary Folklore Festival has run since 1996, bringing costumed dancers and folk musicians into the spa town's streets and squares each year through what organisers describe as the dedicated, largely volunteer-driven work that has sustained the event across three decades.
