Copenhagen Marathon in Copenhagen
Copenhagen Marathon runs each May on a flat, compact 42.2-kilometre course through the city's historic centre, harbour and residential districts, drawing both competitive runners chasing fast times and a broad field of recreational participants. Copenhagen's own strong cycling and running culture gives the race an engaged home crowd along much of the route.
Copenhagen's flat, compact street grid makes the Copenhagen Marathon a genuinely fast course by international standards, sending runners on a loop through the city's historic centre, past the harbour, royal palaces and out to the greener residential districts before finishing back in the city core each May.
