Eremitagelobet

Eremitageløbet, Denmark's oldest cross-country race, has run every October since 1969 as a 13.3-kilometre loop through Dyrehaven, the historic deer park north of Copenhagen, reaching its 57th edition and more than 600,000 cumulative finishers by the mid-2020s. The park itself dates to 1669, when King Frederik III fenced in the beech woods and stocked them with wild deer, and runners still share the course with free-roaming roe and fallow deer today.
