Smukfest in Skanderborg

Smukfest grew from a single day with seven bands in 1980 into Denmark's second-largest festival after Roskilde, now filling the beech forest of Skanderborg Dyrehave for five days each August with around 50,000 campers. Concerts run among mature trees and beside a lake rather than on open farmland, giving the festival a shaded, forest-set character distinct from Denmark's other major summer events.
