Fiesta del Guagua Negro in Pimampiro
In the Pimampiro parish of Chuga, the Fiesta del Guagua Negro combines an Epiphany-timed January 6 celebration with an eighty-year-old rotating sponsorship system, where participants contribute money to receive double the following year. Centered on a luck-granting figure called the Guagua Negro and a founding legend about a boy and his black dog, it draws home migrants back to the community each year.
