Galala Challenge in Galala
A hill-climbing endurance race on the Galala Plateau above Ain Sokhna, run over an early-April weekend and now in its ninth-plus edition. Organized by Power Ride, it is one of the few Egyptian races built around genuine elevation gain and sweeping Gulf of Suez views.
Galala Challenge climbs the escarpment above Ain Sokhna, on the Red Sea coast within striking distance of Cairo, where the Galala Plateau rises steeply enough to give trail and endurance racers genuine elevation gain in a country where most terrain is famously flat.
