Saaremaa Opera Festival in Kuressaare
Full opera productions staged inside the stone courtyard of Kuressaare's fourteenth-century Episcopal Castle every July since 1999, using the medieval fortress as an open-air opera house seating roughly two thousand. Organized since 2008 by Eesti Kontsert under artistic director Arne Mikk, the programme pairs a major staged opera with gala concerts, drawing Estonian and international singers to Estonia's largest island.
