Wai Tui International in Wailoaloa/Nadi
Wai Tui International is a va'a outrigger canoe regatta at Wailoaloa Beach, Nadi, drawing paddlers from across the Pacific and beyond for V1 and V6 racing spanning sprints to marathon distances. Revived in 2026 after a fourteen-year gap, it honors founder Colin Philp's legacy while re-establishing Fiji's place on the regional paddling circuit. Expect beachfront viewing of starts and finishes with much of the marathon racing happening offshore.
Nearly 300 outrigger canoe paddlers from as far as Australia, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Nauru, the Solomon Islands and the United States lined up on Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi for the revived Wai Tui International, a va'a paddling regatta that returned in 2026 after a fourteen-year absence from Fiji's international sporting calendar.
